London ROCOR Cathedral Marks Milestone in Food Aid to Refugees and Needy

LONDON — Since December 2022, the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia’s Cathedral of the Nativity of the Mother of God and the Royal Martyrs in London has been running a food bank to support refugees and families in need. The initiative, inspired by the Christian call to “care for all as brothers and sisters in Christ,” provides weekly boxes containing enough provisions to feed a family for an entire week.
According to the Diocese of Great Britain and Western Europe, the program has distributed nearly 2,800 parcels since its launch. The food bank is sustained by donations from parishioners, local businesses, and charities, and is operated by a committed team of cathedral volunteers.
Previously, UOJ reported that the Orthodox Volunteer Corps (OVC) is forming a new generation of Orthodox young adults committed to service, justice, and compassion.
