Abp. Alexei: How to Pray as a Family
SITKA — In a video published on the Diocese of Alaska's Facebook page, Abp. Alexei offered the following advice on how families can enrich their prayer lives:
If a family prays together, the household becomes a little tower in that vineyard. How do we bring this home? We return fruit to the Master in this season.
We build the altars in our home. We establish a prayer work. We light a lamp and each day we offer ten minutes to God.
We open the Holy Gospel. We read a few verses from it.
Every morning: The trisagion hymn, the Creed, Psalm 50, and short prayers from your prayer rule.
The prayers every evening, the Jesus Prayer, and an examination of conscience.
May this counsel from Abp. Alexei bless our readers' homes!
