FOCUS Establishes Center in Bridgeport, Seeks Director
BRIDGEPORT — FOCUS North America has designated its twelfth center in Bridgeport, CT, marking its seventh new center in two years. Operating from Holy Ghost Orthodox Church and Beardsley School, the center will initially provide monthly hot meals to children and families, with plans to expand services.
The FOCUS Board of Directors, following a successful Exploratory Committee, announced the center’s establishment and launched a search for its inaugural Center Director.
This part-time role (20–25 hours weekly) will lead FOCUS Bridgeport’s growth, coordinating volunteers, building community partnerships, and securing grants with support from the FOCUS National Office.
“This is a unique opportunity to impact lives in Bridgeport,” said Steven Christoforou, Executive Director. Fr. Mark Roosien of Holy Ghost Orthodox Church added, “FOCUS Bridgeport allows us to transform this struggling community through faith and service.”
FOCUS North America, a pan-Orthodox ministry, serves the poor through food, clothing, and shelter programs across its eleven centers and national youth initiatives. To learn more about the Bridgeport center or to apply for the Center Director's position, visit the FOCUS website.
