SPRINGBORO, PA — From October 13 to 18, 2025, the Serbian Orthodox Church’s Eastern American Diocese, under the blessing of Bsp. Irinej, will host the first-ever Iconography Camp at St. Sava Shadeland Monastery near Erie, Pennsylvania. This week-long retreat invites iconographers nationwide to engage in prayer, learning, and sacred artistry in a serene monastic setting.

Led by Fr. George Popovich, a master iconographer with over 30 years of experience, the camp offers daily classes, theological reflections, and hands-on practice painting the altar of the Shadeland Church. Participants will immerse in the monastery’s liturgical rhythm, including Matins, Vespers, and communal meals, fostering spiritual and artistic growth.

Early registration (by September 15) costs $750, with regular registration at $1,000, covering lodging, meals, and materials. Applicants must submit a photo ID, artwork samples, and a background check form.

All proceeds support the monastery’s mission. With limited spaces, this historic gathering promises to unite iconographers in faith and creativity. Reserve your spot today for an unforgettable experience where art becomes prayer.
