Archpriest Nikolai Balashov, Deputy Head of the Department for External Church Relations of the Moscow Patriarchate, said that the details of the US intervention in world Orthodoxy, which caused the current crisis, will still become known to the general public, writes tass.ru.
“The specific details of such interaction will probably become public later, as, for example, the documents of the State Department, published in the United States due to the expiration of the secrecy period, have already become known. They reveal the mechanisms of American interference in the elections of the Patriarchs of Constantinople and determining their political course. This is a very interesting read for lovers of history and for those who reflect on the real reasons for the current developments in the Orthodox world,” said Archpriest Nikolai Balashov.
Archpriest Nikolai Balashov recalled that there are now American studies on the topic of US interference in Universal Orthodoxy, which are being analyzed by the DECR ROC.
The UOJ wrote that the Russian Foreign Ministry accused the United States of the crisis in World Orthodoxy.
