Metropolitan Seraphim of Piraeus of the Greek Orthodox Church believes that the Synod of the GOC should condemn the Tomos of the OCU, reports the Greek resource “Vima Orthodoxias”.
The statement of the Metropolis of Piraeus, dedicated to the de-Christianization of the Western world, contains specific steps to be taken so that the Greek Local Church is not erased from the map “as the seven local Churches of Asia Minor perished".
One of these steps, in addition to condemning the heresy of ecumenism and the Council of Crete, should be the condemnation of the Tomos of the OCU: “Let our local Church, as a synod, condemn the invalid Ukrainian autocephaly so that it does not become an advocate of the schism.”
“Let us not forget that God ‘cannot be mocked’ (Gal. 6: 7) and that ‘It is a dreadful thing to fall into the hands of the living God’ (Heb. 10:31). If we are indifferent, at some point the Spiritual Law will work. Well, before the wrath of God erupts, let us do the right thing," the document says.
According to Metropolitan Seraphim, the recognition of the OCU by the Greek Church is a pre-eminent scandal.
