Exarch for Africa: 10 more clerics of Uganda are in the ROC, let's move on

Metropolitan Leonid, Patriarchal Exarch for Africa of the Russian Orthodox Church, summed up the activities of the missionary group in Uganda in his Telegram channel, showing the results of the work in numbers.

“From February 12 to February 16, a missionary group led by Priest Georgy Maximov worked in Uganda. We visited six cities and villages in the northern, central and eastern parts of the country,” said Metropolitan Leonid of Klin.

During the trips, the members of the group held four meetings with the local clergy, whose representatives wished to transfer to the ROC. “Three priests and one deacon have been accepted into the Russian Orthodox Church,” Vladyka emphasized.

Priest George Maximov, the head of the missionary group in Uganda, performed two Divine Liturgies and one baptism together with the African clergy.

The missionaries visited three parishes, one priest's house, and delivered three public sermons to the Orthodox communities in Uganda.

During the visits, the missionary group handed over antimensions, pectoral crosses and myrrh for priests, as well as hundreds of icons and pectoral crosses to the laity.

“Bottom line: 10 clerics. Let's move on," Metropolitan Leonid summed up.

As the UOJ reported, clerics from five parishes of the Exarchate of the Russian Orthodox Church prayed at the Divine Liturgy in Uganda.
