Metropolitan Luke: Don't follow the devil's lead, stop sowing confusion
Metropolitan Luke of Zaporizhzia and Melitopol reminded the clergy that their key task is to pray for a speedy end to the war. Vladyka wrote about this in his Telegram channel.
“Now, when we must all pray together for the speedy establishment of peace in our long-suffering Motherland, some clergy, succumbing to emotions and proud passion, are sowing division. Is today the right time to start discussions on social networks about one thing and another? Is this our first concern in such a terrible time?” wrote Metropolitan Luke.
According to Vladyka, any war is the work of the devil.
“For me, not only as a bishop, but also just an Orthodox person, the most terrible thing is that people who come out of the same font, whose mothers pray in the same Church, who wear the same crosses on their chests, kill each other. Both of them read the same prayers before the battle and turn to the same God. The heart of the Mother of God breaks when she sees all this madness of Her children! I call and ask the clergy of the Zaporizhia diocese – stop sowing confusion among our flock, do not follow the devil's lead. Remember that you will have to answer for every word before God!” the bishop addressed these words to the clergy.
“Today, more than ever, you must live up to your calling – to show the image of Christ in this world: to have pity on everyone, to have mercy on everyone, to show sacrificial love, rather than to get involved in political games,” the bishop summed up.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that Bishop Sylvester of Bilohorodka considers attempts to sow hatred and mistrust among the people during the war to be insane.
