Lawyer banned from attending Orthodox journalist Taksiur in remand center
Yan Taksiur, Orthodox journalist and publicist, host of the First Cossack channel, was detained by the Security Service of Ukraine on March 10 and has been kept in a pre-trial detention center without the possibility to receive the legal and medical assistance he needs since then.
As the UOJ correspondent was told by the son of the publicist Ilya Taksiur, a lawyer is still not allowed to see his father.
“My father, a very sick man, is locked in the pre-trial detention center, he needs medical help,” Ilya said.
As the UOJ wrote earlier, on March 10, armed men, posing as SBU officers, detained the well-known publicist and writer Yan Taksiur in Kyiv. A few days later, it became known that the Orthodox journalist was arrested and sent to a pre-trial detention center. According to Taksiur's family, he is charged with Article 111 of the Criminal Code “Treason”.
