Ukrainian Prime Minister talks about state support for IDPs

On 21 March 2022, Ukrainian Prime Minister Denis Shmyhal spoke about the government's plans to provide economic support to Ukrainians who fled their homes and moved to other regions of the country because of the war. He said this in an address, the transcript of which is published on the website of the official edition of the Cabinet of Ministers "Governmental Courier".

According to Shmyhal, each migrant in Ukraine will receive from the state a minimum monthly allowance of 2,000 hryvnias. It will be enough to register in the Diya program, and the money will go to a bank card without additional applications and approvals. This money will be paid to everyone who was forced to move from areas of active fighting.

For each child who has moved to a safer part of the country, it is planned to pay 3000 hryvnias per month.

The employers who employed internally displaced persons will get 6,500 UAH in a lump sum for each employed person.

Families of refugees will receive 450 hryvnias per month for each of them. This money can be used by homeowners to pay for utilities.

Shmyhal said: "All three programmes have already been approved by the Ukrainian government. Their implementation begins today, on March 21”. It is from this day that registration of temporary migrants in territorial communities and in the CNAP begins. From March 30, 2022, according to the Prime Minister, registration through the program Diya will begin.
