Raiders leave the territory of the Cathedral in Boryspil

Armed raiders, who had seized the Intercession Cathedral in Boryspil, left the territory of the temple after the arrival of the police. One of the clergy of the diocese told the UOJ about this.

“Today, on April 14, at about 9:30 am, representatives of the local territorial defense, the Security Sector and the Boryspil-1 volunteer battalion, led by Bogdan Metashop, began to gather on the territory of the Boryspil Intercession Cathedral. They blocked access to the territory of the shrine, went inside the fence and, standing along the perimeter at all exits, did not let anyone in, the priest said. “We had certificates with us proving that we are clerics of the cathedral, but these people did not let us into the territory, they said that we were Moscow priests and demanded that we get to the OCU.”

One of the priests filmed what was happening on video. Noticing this, the attackers grabbed his phone, deleted the video and aggressively stated that it is forbidden to film during wartime. At the same time, one of them was also filming a video, and no one interfered with it.

“At this time, the parishioners of the cathedral began to arrive,” the cleric continued. “The attackers said that some of their people would come and sign the transfer to the OCU. However, only our parishioners came – the people who built this cathedral, who go to services. But they were not allowed to enter the territory either.”

At that moment, the police arrived. The police spoke with the parishioners and the invaders, there was a small skirmish, after which the police asked the attackers to disperse. Those from the volunteer battalion said they would leave out of respect for the police. They really got into the cars and left.

“We served a thanksgiving service, but currently we remain in the temple, because their cars keep coming and leaving all the time, we are afraid they will rock the situation,” shared the cleric of the cathedral.

According to him, several people who participated in the raider attempt remained outside the territory of the cathedral and continue monitoring the situation.

As the UOJ wrote the radicals seized the cathedral in Boryspil and demand that the community be transferred to the OCU.
