Serbian Patriarchate resumes dialogue with "Macedonian Church"
On May 6, 2022, during a sermon, Bishop Fotije of Zvornic-Tuzla (SOC) said that the Serbian Church and the so-called Macedonian Church had resumed dialogue after a long break, reports religija.mk.
The meeting was held in the city of Niš in early May in a closed format in the presence of the Serbian Patriarch Porfirije.
Bishop Fotije did not specify who else was involved in the negotiations, except that the Primate of the Serbian Church participated in them.
In his homily the Serbian Bishop spoke about the dialogue of love, while emphasizing that, if it were God's will, the Church in question would return to normal unity with the Serbian Church.
“I exhort everyone to pray for the healing of the 1967 schism. The healing of the schism will be for the good of the Church, and for the good of the two fraternal peoples,” said Bishop Fotije.
As the UOJ previously reported, the Macedonian authorities will discuss autocephaly for the "MOC" with the Serbian Patriarch.
