UOC priest splashed with brilliant green in the face during the liturgy
On May 22, 2022, at the Resurrection church in Stryi, Lviv region, rector Fr. Vladimir Mandziuk was splashed with brilliant green in his face. The attack happened during the liturgy. The incident was reported on Facebook by the priest's daughter Dana Mandziuk.
“This is a cry from the heart! What is going on in our country?! This is my father Father Vladimir, a priest of the UOC in Stryi. Today, during a church service, brilliant green was splashed in his face by the so-called nationalists who seize our churches. I am writing again that our priests pray for our soldiers, for our country, we pray in the Church Slavonic language, we help in any way we can: with money, humanitarian aid. Remember, God cannot be mocked. Each of us will answer to God for everything,” Dana wrote.
The photographs show that the face of the priest is completely covered with green paint. The liquid got into his eyes. The state of his health is still unknown.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that in the Zhytomyr diocese, the rector of the UOC church was beaten and kidnapped.
