MinCulture head comments on possible transfer of Lavra temples to OCU

Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine Aleksandr Tkachenko, commenting on the possibility of transferring the churches of the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra to the OCU, said that there is an agreement on the use of two churches in the Upper Lavra with the UOC, reports unn.com.ua.

"As for the OCU and the temple in the Lavra. We have a valid agreement temporarily with the UOC MP on the use of two temples in the Upper Lavra. We try to build a correct dialogue with both UOC-MP and OCU. They are two Churches of ours. And in many cases, we are involved as mediators. We are always ready to help," Aleksandr Tkachenko said at a briefing on Friday.

"As for the collaborators, or those who help the occupying forces, regardless of which Church they belong to. We are putting the question to our law enforcement agencies that such criminal cases should be brought to an end. There are several such things, as far as I know. Criminal proceedings. But so far, I can't say anything for sure about the progress of the investigations," Tkachenko added.

As reported, the OCU has set up the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra structure and wants to get one temple.
