OCU outraged by criminal cases against organisers of "transfers" from UOC
The OCU has published a statement about the alleged "numerous facts of direct or hidden interference of those in power in the issue of the withdrawal of the Orthodox religious communities from the authority of the Moscow Patriarchate". The text of the document is published on the OCU website.
Dumenko said that "information is coming from many regions" about the actions of state officials and law enforcers who allegedly "obstruct general meetings" of the Orthodox communities and "interfere in the registration of the statutory documents of the communities by local administrations". The OCU is alarmed that criminal proceedings have been opened against OCU activists and their "clerics" and regards them as "facts of direct pressure".
The Dumenko structure claims "numerous facts of collaborationism on the part of the MP clergy with the Russian occupiers" and that the UOC is trying to preserve parishes at all costs. The OCU "appeals to all those on whom it depends to immediately take appropriate measures to stop the practice of preventing the Orthodox communities from leaving the structures of the Moscow Patriarchate".
As earlier reported, the Boyarka mayor ordered to gather residents from all over the towm in order to transfer UOC temples to the OCU.
