Law Department of Boryspil Eparchy comments on seizure of church in Zazymya

The Law Department of the Boryspil Eparchy commented on the territorial community meeting in Zazymya, Kyiv region, which was held on July 17 to take away the ancient Resurrection church and transfer the UOC community to the OCU, reports the press service of the Boryspil Eparchy.

"People began to be agitated for this meeting about a month in advance, with the information sent out in social networks, printed media, and invitations to participate in this meeting dropped in mailboxes,"  the Law Department said.

The eparchy’s press service noted that even residents of other villages in the Zazymya united territorial community attended the meeting.

"Once again, there was a substitution of notions, and instead of the religious community, the village community gathered to decide the fate of the religious community and the Orthodox church. This is despite the fact that on July 10, 202,  the religious community of the parish of the Resurrection of Christ in Zazymya held its own parish meeting and unanimously confirmed its faithfulness to the Ukrainian Orthodox Church led by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine. Incited by representatives of the OCU, people who are not related to the religious community, who had almost never attended the temple before, voted for the transfer of the community to the OCU,” the commentary stresses.

Earlier, the media reported details of the transfer of the UOC temple in Zazymya by the authorities.
