Phanar Exarch discusses interfaith relations with Brovary authorities
On August 26, 2022, Bishop Mikhail of Comana received Igor Sapozhko, the mayor of Brovary, and Oleksiy Doroshenko, a member of the executive committee of the Brovary City Council, at the Phanar's Stauropegion in Ukraine, the "Stauropegion of the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Ukraine" Mission reports on its Facebook page.
The Phanar Exarch discussed the religious and interfaith situation in Ukraine with officials.
Recall that on August 11, 2022, the same state agents, Igor Sapozhko, Oleksiy Doroshenko and other officials of the Brovary City Council, visited Dumenko on behalf of the religious community of the UOC of the village of Trebukhiv, which had allegedly joined the OCU.
As the UOJ wrote, the Brovary mayor tried to ban the work of parishes and monasteries of the UOC.
