Dumenko meets with the heads of Phanar and Church of Greece in Thassos
The head of the OCU, Epifaniy Dumenko, together with "Metropolitan of Vinnytsia and Bar" Simeon (Shostatsky), came to the island of Thassos, where they met with the heads of the Phanar and the Greek Church, the press service of the Patriarchate of Constantinople reports on Facebook.
The visit takes place from September 3 to 6, 2022 on the occasion of the first official celebration of the Saints of Thassos and will include church and cultural events in Thassos, Chrysopolis and Kavala.
Together with Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople and Archbishop Hieronymos, head of the Church of Greece, Dumenko and Shostatsky will take part in the festivities in honor of the Thassos Saints.
The heads of the Phanar and the OCU were invited by the Holy Synod of the Church of Greece in the person of Metropolitan Stefanos at the beginning of February 2022.
Believers in Greece protested against Dumenko's visit.
As previously reported by the UOJ, the Thassos Metropolis warns about the visit of schismatic Dumenko.
