UOC: Actions of certain clergymen are not the position of the entire Church
The Ukrainian Orthodox Church remains with its people in the fight against Russian aggression. This is said in a statement published by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.
The Church has repeatedly and clearly reiterated the full and unconditional support for the sovereignty and integrity of the Ukrainian state.
“The actions of some members of the clergy, which do not comply with the official attitude of the Church, are the revelation for which they bear full responsibility as citizens of Ukraine,” the statement says.
In addition, the UOC calls on its flock, through prayer and good deeds, to help the Motherland uphold peace in its entire territory, resolutely condemning the aggression of the Russian army against the Ukrainian people.
Earlier, the UOJ reported that the Primate of the UOC urged believers to pray for their enemies.
