Polish Church urges Phanar head to convene Council of Primates on the OCU

On October 25, 2022, the Council of Bishops of the Polish Orthodox Church, held under the leadership of His Beatitude Metropolitan Sawa of Warsaw and All Poland, called on the head of the Phanar to convene a Synaxis of the Primates of the Local Churches on the issue of the OCU, reports the official website of the Polish Church orthodox.pl.

The communiqué of the Council says that the Polish Church takes an unchanging position regarding the OCU and calls on the faithful to pray for an end to the division (schism) in the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

“At the same time, the Holy Council of Bishops requests His Holiness Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople to convene a Synaxis of the Heads of all Local Orthodox Churches,” the document says.

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the Council of the Polish Church spoke out "about the destructive activities" of Dumenko.

“When Patriarch Bartholomew visited us, I told him that instead of helping Ukraine, this so-called tomos divided it. And I heard: 'What should I do?' I replied that it was necessary to convene the heads of the Local Churches, and we would help to get out of this difficult situation,” the Polish Primate said at the time.
