# UOC parishioner fined for comments about OCU in Rivne Region

A court in Volodymyrka, Rivne Region, tried a local resident accused of posting offensive comments in a Facebook group directed against the Orthodox Church of Ukraine (OCU), [reports Rivne Vechirne](https://rivnepost.rv.ua/news/na-rivnenshchini-prikhozhanina-upts-shtrafuvali-za-obrazi-ptsu-u-facebook).

According to the court ruling, the man "promoted the exclusivity of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church," of which he is a parishioner.

The accused admitted his guilt and reached an agreement with the prosecutor. The court fined him 3,400 UAH for his actions.

Earlier, the UOJ reported that a man was convicted in Kirovohrad region for his Facebook posts about the OCU.
