# Annual Missionary Seminar to be Dedicated to the 100th Anniversary of the Repose of St. Tikhon of Moscow

Saint Tikhon of Moscow holds a special place in the hearts of the American faithful, and it is perhaps no coincidence that on the centennial of his repose, the Church in America is once again experiencing a period of noticeable growth and renewed missionary zeal.

The seminar, titled *God’s Blessing to America: Saint Tikhon*, will take place on March 30, 2025, at the Cathedral of the Mother of God, Joy of All Who Sorrow, in San Francisco. Organizers hope the retreat *“will allow us to glimpse the amazing history of Orthodoxy in California, honor our holy predecessors, find inspiration, and prepare for the upcoming centennials.”*

Archpriest Peter Perekrestov, Dean of Holy Virgin Cathedral and Secretary of the Western Diocesan Council, will open the day's discussions with a speech titled *Orthodox California: An Overview*. Following lunch (provided), noted author and historian Matthew Namee will deliver the keynote address on *St. Tikhon of San Francisco*. With his in-depth knowledge of St. Tikhon’s missionary efforts in America and their lasting impact on the faithful, there is little doubt that Mr. Namee’s presentation will be a fitting tribute to the saint’s memory.

The conference will also feature the award-winning documentary [Sacred Alaska](https://sacredalaskafilm.com/), showcasing the profound influence of Orthodoxy on Alaskan culture.
