# Islamists Kill 5 Christians in Church Attack, Have Kidnapped 110 in Nigeria

**KADUNA —** Armed Fulani herdsmen stormed an Evangelical Church Winning All (ECWA) congregation in the village of Kampani on July 11, killing five Christians and injuring three during a prayer service, according to [Christian Daily](https://www.christiandaily.com/news/fulanis-kill-five-christians-kidnap-110-others-in-northwest-nigeria). The attack, which occurred around 3:30 p.m., is the latest in a wave of violence targeting Christian communities in Kajuru County.

Local Christian leaders report that at least 110 people - mostly from Christian villages - have been kidnapped in the region during the first half of 2025\. The attackers, described as Islamist-leaning Fulani militants, have also been blamed for torching churches, destroying homes, and looting property.

According to [Open Doors’ 2025 World Watch List](https://www.opendoors.org/en-US/), Nigeria remains the deadliest country in the world for Christians, accounting for 69% of global faith-based killings last year.
