**FOINI —** Abp. Georgios of Cyprus said he expects the Ecumenical Patriarchate in Constantinople to reach a decision by the end of September on the appeal of former Metropolitan of Paphos, Tychikos.

Speaking from the Holy Monastery of Trooditissa, the archbishop stressed that he does not wish to preempt the judgment of the Patriarchate. However, he expressed confidence that the decision will affirm the ruling of the Holy Synod of the Church of Cyprus, which defrocked Met. Tychikos from the Metropolis of Paphos.
