# SVS to Host Discussion on the State of Liturgical Music in the OCA

**YONKERS, NY —** St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary presents its annual Orthodox Education Day (OED) Online on Saturday, October 11, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. EDT. This free virtual event features six sessions with scholars exploring Orthodox theology. 

**10:05 a.m. EDT: The Theology of Leadership**  
Dr. Ionuț-Alexandru Tudorie and Rev. Pdn. Dr. Peter Danilchick discuss spiritual transformation as the foundation for true leadership in church, workplace, and home.

**11:00 a.m. EDT: The Reception of Converts**  
Very Rev. Dr. Alexander Rentel and Very Rev. Dr. Aetios (Nikiforos) examine liturgical and canonical traditions for welcoming the growing number of Orthodox converts.

**12:00 p.m. EDT: Orthodox Doctrine & Spirituality**  
Very Rev. Dr. Bogdan Bucur and Dr. Georgiana Huian explore how Church Fathers link doctrine and spiritual life in Christ.

**1:00 p.m. EDT: Welcoming Catechumens**  
Right Rev. Dr. John (Abdalah) and Rev. Dn. Dr. Gregory Abdalah address opportunities and challenges in supporting new spiritual seekers.

**2:00 p.m. EDT: Rethinking Sacred Arts**  
Dr. Peter Bouteneff and Dr. Christina Maranci question the nature and boundaries of sacred arts.

**3:00 p.m. EDT: Orthodox Church Music**  
Rev. Dn. Dr. Harrison Basil Russin and Anastasia Kappanadze evaluate the state of Orthodox music in North America.
