**KHERSON —** On January 7, 2026, the feast of the Nativity of Christ, Russian forces shelled the Holy Spirit Cathedral in the city of Kherson. According to the report, one of the shells struck the cathedral’s main dome, while another landed on the church grounds. Diocesan officials stated that no injuries were reported as a result of the attack.
