**MOROGORO, TANZANIA —** On Saturday, February 7, 2026, 182 people from Eastern Tanzania received Holy Baptism at the Missionary Center of Morogoro, continuing a tradition now in its 22nd year. The baptisms [were held](https://www.romfea.gr/patriarxeia-ts/patriarxeio-alexandreias/74780-baptisi-182-neofotiston-morogoro) with the blessing of His Holiness Theodore II, Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa.

The newly illumined faithful were baptized by His Eminence Metr. Dimitrios, with more than 60,000 newly illumined baptized since 2004 in total. Following systematic catechesis led by Protopresbyter Cleopas Bachuba and six local priests, the catechumens approached the sacrament with reverence, order, and visible joy, receiving Holy Communion for the first time.
