Published by St. Herman of Alaska Monastery, the book includes all 12 original issues and material from related outreach publications *Alaska the Final Frontier* and *Mother Wisdom*.

Launched in 1994 as an evangelistic effort aimed at teens in the punk subculture, *Death to the World* was distributed at shows and underground venues, at one point reaching an estimated 50,000 copies in circulation. A founding contributor was Justin Marler, who later spent seven years in monastic life after recording with the band Sleep.
