**NEW YORK —** Fr. Samuel Davis will lead a 12-week [virtual course](https://www.facebook.com/photo?fbid=1304088768417993&set=a.475960277897517) in collaboration with Mount Thabor Academy, offering a theological and historical examination of how the Orthodox Church understands the transformation of human suffering into divine glory.

Titled around the theme of “martyric salvation,” the course will explore the belief that Christ is uniquely present in the suffering of the oppressed and that redemption is realized through an ascetic life grounded in obedience, prayer, righteousness, and sacrificial love. Participants will study how suffering, united to Christ, becomes a path to sanctification and glorification.
