The decision was adopted during the Synod’s February 4 meeting and later publicized through church channels.

The Synod called on all metropolises and parishes to participate, emphasizing that care for these historic spiritual centers is a shared responsibility of the entire Orthodox Church. Funds for St. Catherine’s Monastery will be collected on the fourth Sunday of Lent, March 22, while donations for the Holy Sepulchre will be gathered on Holy Thursday, April 9\. Contributions will be deposited into designated accounts at the National Bank of Greece.
