# UOC Hieromonk Taken by Recruitment Officers on His Birthday

**KHMELNYTSKYI, UKRAINE —** Hieromonk Viktor (Denisov), a cleric of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) and the Pokrov Vicariate, [was mobilized](https://t.me/pokrovvicariate/5810) into the Armed Forces of Ukraine on September 28, according to the vicariate. The report said the mobilization took place on the hieromonk’s birthday and name day.

The Pokrov Vicariate stated that officers of the Khmelnytskyi Territorial Recruitment and Social Support Center carried out the mobilization and alleged that it violated Ukrainian legislation.
