On January 18, Patr. Porfirije led Theophany celebrations in Mirijevo, calling Christians to live a transformative, Christ-centered life.

MIRIJEVO, SERBIA — On January 18, 2026, the Feast of Theophany, Patr. Porfirije of Serbia presided over the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Holy Prophet Elijah in Mirijevo.

During the service, His Holiness reflected on the significance of these feasts and the unity of God as a Trinity. “In the Lord is the beginning and the end. . . . He Himself is the Gospel, the Good News,” the Patriarch stated, emphasizing that humanity is created in God’s image and achieves wholeness through communion with Him.

He further explained that Christian life is not governed by external rules or ideology, but must be “a life in Christ, a life of Christ reflected in our own lives.” The commandments, he said, are invitations to transformation, repentance, and moral growth: “It is a life in which each today is better than yesterday, and each tomorrow better than today.”

Following the Liturgy, Vespers was served, and the faithful participated in the Great Blessing of Waters.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Pat. Porfirije gave his blessing to the leadership of UOJ-Serbia.
