Apostolic Mission to African Diaspora Introduces 'Apostolic Anchor' Newsletter
A new GOARCH newsletter aims to unite and strengthen Orthodox communities across the African diaspora through faith, mission, and shared resources.
NEW YORK — The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America (GOARCH) has announced the launch of the "Apostolic Anchor," a new newsletter serving the Apostolic Mission to the African Diaspora in the Americas, West Indies, and Caribbean, aimed at strengthening connections among Orthodox communities.
The newsletter will provide updates on missionary activity, theological reflections, parish life, and upcoming events. Organizers say the initiative is intended to serve as both a spiritual resource and a platform for unity, drawing on the Church’s enduring Tradition while addressing contemporary challenges across the diaspora.
"In a world of constant change, our Faith and Tradition remains the 'sure and steadfast anchor od the soul' (Hebrews 6:19)," the release states. "This newsletter is designed to be the bridge that connects our vibrant communities across the diaspora, keeping us united in the ancient, Orthodox Faith and Tradition while addressing contemporary issues."
The publication will feature reports on outreach efforts, educational materials, and stories highlighting faith and perseverance within local communities. It also aims to support the growth of Orthodox identity and engagement among both faithful members and inquirers.
