Another arson attack on UOC church in Kiev

On the night of May 23, in the Obolon deanery of the UOC  there was an arson attack on the church of the Transfiguration of the Lord located near the Kiev City tubercular dispensary at 68 Avtozavodskaya Str., reports mitropolia.kiev.ua.

It is reported that unknown persons committed an act of vandalism against the church of the Transfiguration of the Lord in the UOC Obolon deanery, broke down the doors and set fire to the church inside and outside.

Residents of the area, who saw the church on fire, immediately informed the rector, Archpriest Alexander Prochenko and called the police. Thanks to the timely call, the building of the church survived, but the fire damaged the walls. The vandals escaped. Law enforcement agencies initiated investigation.

It is to be recalled that this is not the first act of vandalism against a church. On October 1, 2015, the Transfiguration Church was desecrated by the unknown, leaving a provocative inscription "Down with the Moscow priests" on the church wall.
