Mel Gibson told about follow-up of the film “Passion of the Christ”

Actor and director Mel Gibson told he is working on the follow-up of his film “Passions of the Christ” made in 2004. He reported about it to IndieWire.

He noted this is a very big subject, therefore the filmmakers do not want just to render the Bibilical events on the screen, but have a thorough look at that. The screenwriter of the new outing is Randall Wallace – who created the script for the film “Brave heart”, directed in 1995 by Mel Gibson and receiving five “Oscar” Awards.

The new film about Jesus Christ will be the first directorial undertaking of Mel Gibson since the “Apocalypse” film produced in 2006. It will be reminded, historic drama “The Passion of the Christ” by Mel Gibson came out in 2004.

The film made 612 million dollars all over the world against 30 million dollars for its production. The film features the events prior to the crucifixion of Jesus Christ. The script was written by Mel Gibson and Benedict Fitzgerald based on the four canonical Gospels: Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.
