Arsonists cause 500 000 UAH damage to Pavlograd church

The rector of Ss. Cyril and Methodius’s Church of Pavlograd says to the UOC that the case of arson of the church, which occurred on 7 November, is under investigation. The suspects have not been identified yet. According to preliminary estimates the damage amounts to about 500 thousand UAH, and the congregation is in need of financial assistance. Despite it, services in the church continue to be held.

"The heating system has already been repaired, now the soot is being removed from the utensils and icons, – said Archpriest Andrei Demidas. – But the damage losses are quite striking. According to preliminary estimates, we will need about 500 thousand UAH. Save Lord all who responded to the call for help! We still need your assistance."
Parishioners ask for prayers and call on all the concerned citizens to send donations to A-bank account ("Privat" group) 5169 1570 0094 7642, recipient Andrei Demidas.

November 7, about two o'clock in the morning, Pavlograd local residents saw a fire in Ss. Cyril and Methodius’s Church of the UOC. The police found that 4 firebombs had been thrown into the church. The church was severely damaged as a result of a fire.
