President signs bill №5050 on non-profit organizations
The Verkhovna Rada passed bill № 5050 on 6 October, and the President identified it as urgent. However, for some unknown reason, there was a delay in the signing and promulgation of the law by the President.
The law will come into force in the next few days after its official publication. However, the practical implementation of bill № 5050 after the entry into force is possible only by making changes to para. 2 of Decree № 440 of the Cabinet of Ministers of 13.07.2016.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a new procedure for maintaining the Register of non-profit institutions and organizations in July 2016. Almost 35 thousand religious communities should also undergo the re-registration.
As reported by the UOJ, on 6 October a majority vote of MPs approved bill № 5050 "On Amendments to the Tax Code of Ukraine concerning the clarification of certain provisions of the taxation of non-profit organizations". It eliminates a number of inaccuracies in the Tax Code with respect to the non-profit status of religious organizations.
