Feast of Pentecost prayerfully celebrated in Kiev Lavra (PHOTOS, VIDEO)

On June 4, the feast of Pentecost, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine, led the Divine Liturgy and the Great Vespers on the square in front of the Dormition Cathedral of the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, reports the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

After reading the Holy Gospel, the Primate addressed the flock with the words of a sermon. His Beatitude reminded believers of the essence of the dogma about the Holy Trinity and explained where in the Old and New Testament, as well as in the created world and the man himself, there is evidence of the Trinity of the Divine.

The Archpastor also talked about how a person comes to know God. "The mystery of the Holy Trinity opens with the purity of the human soul," stressed the Primate.

During the Divine service, a special prayer was offered for peace in Ukraine.

After the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry led the Great Vespers, during which special prayers of St. Basil the Great were read.

After the dismissal, the Archpastor congratulated the faithful on the Feast of Pentecost and blessed everyone.
