Metr. Saba Appeals for Lebanon Relief Donations
Metr. Saba calls for urgent donations to aid displaced families in Lebanon.
ENGLEWOOD, NJ — Metr. Saba of the Antiochian Orthodox Archdiocese of North America has issued an urgent appeal for donations to assist those affected by the humanitarian crisis in Lebanon. In a March 25 statement, he called on clergy and faithful to support families displaced by ongoing instability in Mount Lebanon and Zahle.
Metr. Saba highlighted the tireless efforts of Metr. Silouan and Metr. Antonios, who have left their own flocks to provide shelter, food, medical care, and pastoral support to displaced Christian households. Prayers were also offered for Metr. Elias of Tyre and Sidon and all impacted communities, with a plea for the swift restoration of peace and safe return to homes.
Metr. Saba encouraged parishes, families, and individuals to contribute through the Archdiocese’s online giving platform or Antiochian.org, urging compassion and generosity during the Lenten season.
Previously, the UOJ reported that an 85‑foot statue of Christ was erected on the Lebanon–Syria border.
