RSA comes up with the destiny of the UOC temple in Kolomyia

On June 13 at briefing chief of the administration of Ivano-Frankovsk region Oleg Goncharuk told the journalists how the conflict situation around the UOC Annunciation temple in Kolomyia is going to be resolved.

"The church has held divine services since 1991 and suddenly they began to discuss all this: this problem is not the hub of the universe," Oleg Goncharuk said. "All this is speculation again."

The head of the OGA stressed that the Annunciation Church is a state property and a monument of architecture of Ukraine.

"Within a few months, we will allocate funds for the restoration of the temple from the regional budget, and in accordance with the normative documents we will bring it into the proper condition," Goncharuk said.

He told the reporters he had met with representatives of all denominations claiming to own the temple, and believes that if in a few months the conflict does not abate by itself, then the future fate of the church will be put to a public debate.
