In Kolomyia UOC parishioners curb provocations and refuse to go into schism (VIDEO)
According to the UOJ source, Nikolai Repiakh, head of Kolomiya City Committee of the Trade Union of Government Workers, was particularly active in inciting the change of jurisdiction of the community. He intended to lead and run the parish meeting. In fact, Repiakh himself is not a parishioner of the Annunciation Church.
"Despite the loud name of the institution, which is represented by Mr. Repiakh, in this case his actions contradicted all the principles of the civil service and the current legislation of Ukraine," says the official website of Ivano-Frankivsk UOC eparchy. After all, any official understands that all legal entities in Ukraine act on the basis of their constituent documents. In the case of the religious community of the Annunciation temple, this is the statute. The head of the religious community is a rector of the church, and he must be the presiding officer of the parish meeting. The superior did not support the initiative of the transition and was not present at the meeting".
Subsequently, most of the community, led by the rector of the church, Archpriest Vasily Kobelskiy, confirmed they do not intend to renounce their faith. At the convocation of the senior priest, a legitimate parish meeting was held. 215 parishioners spoke in favor of preserving the religious community under jurisdiction of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
Now, according to the source of the UOJ, the situation around the Annunciation temple is quiet.
The UOJ follows developments.
