In Zhitomir schismatics face division
It is reported that in February 2017 a new bishop, Paisiy, was appointed to the diocese of the Kiev Patriarchate in Zhitomir. "Since that time the calm life of the cathedral has undergone changes. Bishop Paisiy, having secured the legal support of Maria Zinovievna Sorochinskaya, a lawyer from Ivano-Frankovsk, decided to establish new rules, keeping the community (that is, the parishioners) out of the cathedral affairs. Ms. Sorochinskaya allowed a shameful situation, solving any issues not within the Cathedral, but by sending scandalous letters with false facts to the controlling and state bodies," the authors write.
The community accuses the bishop and those close to him of an attempt to appropriate the property of the cathedral. In addition, the community received information that instead of a children's health camp and a Sunday school, the bishop plans to open a monastic skete and his residence.
