During the Liturgy, there were prayers for peace in Ukraine and for the repose of the soul of the deceased Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
After the dismissal, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry addressed the flock with a word in which he remembered the deceased Metropolitan Vladimir. "Today we remember our mentor and teacher, who taught us not only with words, but with his own work and example. May God rest his soul, and save us and have mercy on us," the Archpastor concluded.
After the Divine Liturgy at the grave of His Beatitude Metropolitan Vladimir, the memorial service to honor the late Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church was held.
On July 5, 2014, in the 79th year of life, after a long and debilitating illness, Metropolitan Vladimir of Kiev and All Ukraine (Sabodan) departed to the Lord.
