UGCC spreads fake about Cardinal Parolin

The website of the UGCC and a number of other Ukrainian media spread false information that Cardinal Pietro Parolin, the Secretary of State of the Vatican, during his visit to Russia, condemned the annexation of the Crimea and expressed disagreement of the Vatican with the position of the Russian Federation. This is evidenced by the information published by the Protodeacon of the ROC, a clergyman of the Archangel Michael Church in Troparev, Andrei Kuraev.

The website of the UGCC claims that on August 22, during the press-conference of Cardinal Pietro Parolin, Secretary of State of the Vatican, and Sergei Lavrov, the Russian Foreign Minister, Cardinal Parolin urged the Russian Federation "to stop violating international law", recalling the "illegal annexation" of the Crimea, and also expressed the Vatican’s disagreement with the position of the Russian Federation in this matter.

Kuraev refers to the video of the press conference and the Italian original of the cardinal's speech: they testify that there is not a word about the Crimea and annexation. "The Holy See, since it does not intend and cannot identify itself with any of its political positions, recalls its duty to strictly adhere to the great principles of international law, respect for which is necessary for the protection of order and peace throughout the world, and for the restoration of a healthy atmosphere of mutual respect In international relations," said Cardinal Parolin.

"The fake was launched by a permanent author of Asia News (on the church-Ukrainian theme) Vladimir Rozanskij. First, he gave his personal forecast of the upcoming talks, then he adjusted his own report from the press conference to his prophecy," the priest writes.

"However, Ukrainian Uniates presented the text of the Moscow-Asian fail forecaster as a direct speech of the Secretary of State of the Vatican. Are they flunkers, who don’t know Italian and aren’t able to look for sources, or liars?" asks the protodeacon.
