A convent is opened in Zhitomir region
During the Liturgy at the lesser entrance, Metropolitan Paul ordained as a hegumeness (abbess) the nun of the monastery Seraphima (Meleschuk). Also during the worship, fervent prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine and the good initiative.
"I thank God for celebrating the Liturgy in the newly formed convent today," Paul said. "Monasticism has always been the angelic way, so the monks bring light to people directing them on the path that leads to salvation. Always remember the feat of Christ the Savior," the bishop addressed the nuns. "Always try to follow the way which Christ went, always look at cross-carrying and Golgotha. But always after Golgotha and putting into the tomb, the Resurrection comes."
Metropolitan Paul announced the decision of the Holy Synod to open the Savior Protection Convent and read out the Letter of Honor by the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Onufry, Metropolitan of Kiev and All Ukraine.
