Kyiv Patriarchate continues illegal "repairs" in Lutsk Cathedral
As one of the parishioners of the Holy Trinity Cathedral Stepan Kuzmich wrote on the Facebook, the wall paintings which he remembered from childhood were whitewashed in the church building. The Lutsk resident attended the service on Tuesday, September 19. According to him, the left side of the walls at the altar is completely whitewashed.
Supporters of the UOC-KP seized the monument of architecture, the Holy Trinity Cathedral, in 1992. Since the appointment of Mikhail (Zinkevich), the current "metropolitan" of the Kyiv Patriarchate, the historical protected area has been rebuilt; illegal "repair" work is under way, despite public protests and attempts by local historians to open proceedings under article 298 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
