GoFundMe Launched for Alaskan Priest After Devastating Floods
KWIGILLIGOK, AK — A GoFundMe has been launched to support an Orthodox priest in a remote Alaskan village who lost everything during the floods that recently hit the western parts of the state.
Fr. Noah Andrew and his wife, Mka. Anastasia, lost their home, church, and means of survival. The deluge submerged their Kwigillingok, forcing evacuations to the neighboring village of Kongiganak and leaving residents grappling with unimaginable loss.
Fr. Noah has emerged as a beacon of hope. Despite personal devastation, he and Mka. Anastasia continue ministering to traumatized families, offering spiritual solace amid the ruins.
Organized by local advocate Anna Mizes, the GoFundMe campaign launched this week aims to raise money for rebuilding their home and restoring subsistence resources like hunting gear, which is essential to village life.
"All proceeds go directly to Father Noah's account for his family's needs," Mizes stated, emphasizing daily oversight to ensure transparency.
