NEW YORK — The Assembly of Bishops’ Inter-Parish Associations (IPA) ministry has announced the establishment of six new Inter-Parish Associations during 2025, marking continued growth in pan-Orthodox cooperation across the United States.
The newly formed IPAs serve the areas of Denver, Colorado; Indianapolis, Indiana; Northern New Jersey; Manhattan, New York City; Worcester, Massachusetts; and Youngstown, Ohio. Each association brings together Orthodox Christian parishes of all jurisdictions within a defined local area to foster unity and collaboration.
Inter-Parish Associations are designed to promote communication, camaraderie, and cooperation among parishes at the city or regional level. Member parishes are represented by both clergy and laity, working together to overcome jurisdictional divisions and strengthen a common Orthodox Christian witness.
According to the Assembly of Bishops, the goal of the IPA ministry is to help Orthodox communities act together in service, outreach, and public presence, offering a unified testimony of Christ’s love in local society.
Additional information about Inter-Parish Associations, including guidance on forming a new IPA, is available through the Assembly of Bishops.
