KYIV — On January 9, 2026, the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) held memorial services at the Kyiv Theological Schools and in the Kryvyi Rih Eparchy for victims of Russian attacks , the Church’s Information and Educational Department reported.
At the Academic Church of the Kyiv Theological Academy and Seminary, a memorial litany was celebrated with the blessing of Abp. The service was led by Archimandrite Volodymyr (Tsipinyo), with chants performed by the student choir.
In Kryvyi Rih, memorial prayers were offered during the Divine Liturgy at St. Stephen Church, which celebrated its patronal feast and is still being rebuilt after a Russian missile strike last February. Metr. Ephrem of Kryvyi Rih and Nikopol presided, joined by eparchial clergy. Special prayers were offered for peace in Ukraine, the well-being of its people, the repose of the victims, and fallen defenders.
