UOC Social Department Brings Paschal Joy to Kyiv Orphanage
The UOC’s social department brought Paschal gifts and celebrations to orphaned girls in Kyiv, in a heartfelt effort to bring comfort and kindness to vulnerable children.
KYIV — Employees of the Synodal Department for Social and Humanitarian Issues of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC) visited the Darnitsa Children’s Home on April 15, 2026, to mark Pascha with gifts, treats, and a festive program for the institution’s 80 girls. The visit was part of ongoing charitable outreach efforts coordinated by the UOC’s social ministry.
The children received Easter breads, sweets, fresh fruit, and juices, with organizers aiming to ensure each child felt personal care and attention during the holiday. Staff described the initiative as a way of sharing the joy of the Resurrection of Christ with those in need, emphasizing the importance of compassion and support for vulnerable children.
The celebration also included an entertainment program with animators, which was warmly received by the girls. According to department representative Anna, the atmosphere was filled with gratitude and joy, with children actively engaging, hugging guests, and expressing appreciation for the Paschal visit and festivities.
